3 minutes on foot from the Tatemachi tram stop, 5 minutes from the Hatchobori bus stop, Mimuramatsu Tatemachi Hondori sits on Hondori, Hiroshima's main street. The storefront is fully glass-walled, so the bright, open interior is easy to see from outside and easy to step into.
The showroom spans two floors. More than 120 modern butsudan designed to match contemporary lifestyles are on display, alongside traditional gold-lacquer and karaki (rosewood) altars, so customers can compare styles side by side and choose the altar that's right for them.
In 2015 the store was recognized for its outstanding presentation and customer service, receiving the "Ii-mise Hiroshima" award as a retailer well loved and rooted in the local community.
